Undesired hybridization between pattypan and courgette

My pattypans aren’t looking like pattypans this year. What happened? I harvested the seed from pattypan plants I grew last year. Not far away from my growing area, zucchini plants were grown. Courgettes (zucchinis) and pattypan are groups of cultivars belonging to the same species, Cucurbita pepo. Cultivars within the same species can cross readily with each other yielding intraspecific hybrids. This is what has happened.
